Pakistan and El Salvador establish first bilateral ties, focus on cryptocurrency cooperation
Odaily News Pakistan and El Salvador have established bilateral diplomatic relations for the first time, placing cryptocurrency cooperation at the core of the relationship. Bilal Bin Saqib, CEO of the Pakistan Crypto Council and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Cryptocurrency and Blockchain, met with Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele in El Salvador to discuss a knowledge-sharing partnership, according to a statement from the Pakistani Ministers Office. The talks took place on July 16, 2025, marking the start of formal cooperation between the two countries in the field of cryptocurrency. (Bloomberg)
