A certain user fell victim to an address poisoning attack and mistakenly sent 140 ETH, resulting in a loss of approximately $636,000.
BlockBeats News, August 15th, according to Scam Sniffer monitoring, 1 hour ago, a victim lost 140 ETH, worth $636,559, because they copied the wrong address from a tainted transaction history.
The address poisoning attacker accomplishes this by sending small transactions to the target wallet (usually zero-value or minimal "dust" transactions), causing a forged wallet address to appear in the target's transaction history. The forged address closely resembles the user's familiar address, aiming to trick the user into mistakenly sending funds to the attacker's address when copying and pasting the address.
