Bessenet: The More Tariff Revenue, the Harder to Overturn Trump's Trade Policy

By: theblockbeats.news|2025/08/13 06:43:00

BlockBeats News, August 13th - U.S. Treasury Secretary Benson said in an interview with Fox Business on Tuesday that as tariff revenue continues to flow into the U.S. Treasury, if tariff litigation cases in lower courts are ultimately appealed to the Supreme Court, the growing fiscal revenue will make it difficult for the Supreme Court to make a ruling unfavorable to the Trump administration.

Benson stated: "The more fiscal revenue there is, the harder it is for the Supreme Court to make a ruling against us." This statement is in response to a case being heard by the Washington, D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals. The case questions the legality of Trump's so-called "reciprocal" tariffs and also challenges another set of tariff measures imposed in February on China, Canada, and Mexico.
