Cosmos Hub Pauses Plan to Launch EVM Platform
BlockBeats News, July 16th: Cosmos shared its product updates and future plans on the X platform. The team announced that it will pause its plan to launch an EVM platform on the Cosmos Hub and will reevaluate the related path. However, they will continue to invest in the Cosmos EVM L1 stack to support builders in deploying their standalone EVM chains.
The team described the EVM plan as providing the Hub with a hopeful and unique role in the Cosmos ecosystem. The possibility of future Virtual Machine (VM) or Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) upgrades may still unlock new services or onboarding paths. Therefore, the team is willing to revisit this approach while continuously understanding the needs of institutions and L1 builders.
