Crypto Giants Gather on Capitol Hill, Market Structure Legislation at the Core of Discussion
BlockBeats News, October 23rd. According to Bloomberg, more than a dozen cryptocurrency industry leaders met with U.S. bipartisan leaders on Wednesday for a nearly three-hour meeting, with the core discussion being the Crypto Market Structure Bill. The bill aims to establish regulation on the industry and was originally scheduled for discussion in late October. The ongoing U.S. government shutdown has resulted in a delay of this bill.
Attendees stated that during a one-and-a-half-hour initial meeting with Democrats (with Schumer briefly in attendance), lawmakers inquired about issues related to illicit finance and decentralized finance to the cryptocurrency industry leaders. In a subsequent meeting with Republican lawmakers that lasted over an hour, the lawmakers expressed their support for the industry and the bill.
