EU approves 93 billion euro tariff retaliation plan against US
Odaily News EU member states voted to impose retaliatory tariffs on US products totaling 93 billion euros. The day before, a spokesman for the European Commission announced on July 23 that the EU plans to merge two retaliatory tariff lists on US exports into a unified list totaling 93 billion euros. The list mainly involves high-value industrial products such as aircraft, automobiles and electrical equipment. The total amount of the retaliatory package formed by the two lists is 93 billion euros. Olof Gill, a spokesman for the European Commission, said on July 23 that if the negotiations (with the United States) fail, the countermeasures will take effect on August 7. (Jinshi)
