BlockBeats News, November 25th. According to The New York Post, a Hong Kong man has been sentenced to 7 years in prison in Canada for his involvement in an extremely brutal home invasion: four attackers disguised as deliverymen broke into a residence in British Columbia, subjecting a family of three to 13.5 hours of beating, waterboarding, and sexual assault threats, ultimately making off with $1.6 million worth of Bitcoin.

The court described this as a "carefully planned, long-term violent crime." The attackers had conducted reconnaissance weeks in advance, surveilled the victims, and placed cameras outside the house to target their cryptocurrency holdings. During the ordeal, the robbers coerced the couple into revealing their encrypted account passwords:

· The wife endured waterboarding, while the husband was stripped naked and beaten
· The robbers threatened to cut off the husband's genitals
· They also threatened to harm their young daughter to psychologically pressure the parents

Ultimately, the robbers transferred $1.6 million in Bitcoin from the victims' account. The following morning, the victims' daughter managed to escape and called the police. Law enforcement later found the parents injured and bound, with the husband partially naked. Court documents revealed that the attackers had conducted surveillance on the family for weeks, installed cameras around the house to learn about their cryptocurrency assets and daily routines. Before leaving, they attempted to destroy evidence by submerging household electronics in a solution of bleach and water. The court characterized this case as an "extreme act of violence, extreme brutality, and a meticulously planned cryptocurrency robbery."
