Report: Citi, JPMorgan, Goldman Sachs, and SBI Group Lead Traditional Financial Institutions in Blockchain Strategy

BlockBeats News, August 3rd, according to Cointelegraph, Ripple and CB Insights, in collaboration with the UK Blockchain Technology Center, jointly released a recent report showing that Citigroup, JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, and Japan's SBI Group have become the most active representatives of traditional financial institutions supporting blockchain startups.

The report points out that during the period from 2020 to 2024, global banks participated in a total of 345 investments in blockchain companies, mostly focused on early-stage financing. Among them, Citigroup and Goldman Sachs each completed 18 transactions, leading the industry; JPMorgan Chase and MUFG followed closely, completing 15 investments each.

Among them, the "mega financing round" with $100 million or more is a key area of focus for bank deployment. Over the past four years, banks have participated in a total of 33 such financings, with funds primarily flowing to companies focused on transaction infrastructure, tokenization, custody, and payment solutions.
