BlockBeats News, January 18th, Trump posted on Truth Social stating that due to the Greenland issue (Danish autonomous territory), starting from February 1st this year, a 10% tariff will be imposed on all goods exported to the United States from Denmark, Norway, Sweden, France, Germany, the UK, the Netherlands, and Finland. By June 1st this year, the tariff will be increased to 25%. The tariff must be paid continuously until an agreement is reached on the "complete and thorough purchase of Greenland."

In the post, Trump said, "Denmark, Norway, Sweden, France, Germany, the UK, the Netherlands, and Finland, these countries have all visited Greenland for unknown purposes. This poses a very dangerous situation for the security, protection, and survival of our planet. These countries are playing an extremely dangerous game, and the level of risk they bring is intolerable and unsustainable. Therefore, to protect global peace and security, strong measures must be taken to quickly and indisputably end this potential dangerous situation."

In addition, the EU will convene member state ambassadors in Brussels on the 18th for an emergency meeting to discuss the Greenland issue and the new tariff threat from US President Trump.

According to PolyBeats monitoring, the probability on the Polymarket prediction market of "Trump acquiring Greenland by 2027" has risen from a recent 6% to 20%.
