Trump: No Immediate Tariffs on China for Purchasing Russian Oil
BlockBeats News, August 16th, Recently, the United States announced an additional tariff on Indian goods, citing punishment for India's purchase of Russian oil. The U.S. also threatened to impose secondary tariffs on Chinese goods imported to the U.S. due to their purchase of Russian oil. According to Reuters' report on the 16th, U.S. President Trump stated after meeting with Russian President Putin on the 15th local time that there is currently no plan to impose tariffs on China for purchasing Russian oil.
After concluding the meeting with Putin in Alaska, Trump stated in an interview with Fox News reporters that, given the circumstances of this meeting, he would not consider imposing tariffs on China for purchasing Russian oil at the moment. Trump also said, "I may have to consider this issue in two to three weeks, but for now, we don't need to think about it." (FX Street)
