Vitalik: "I Only Support Open Source" Should Be a Common Viewpoint
BlockBeats News, August 12th, Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin published a lengthy article titled "Thoughts on Idea-drivenness," pointing out that "I only support things that are open source" should be a common view, and "I only support things if they are open source" should be a more common view. There is a conflict between idea-driven approaches (rooted in a philosophical framework) and data-driven approaches (stemming from empirical analysis). The idea-driven approach, or ideology, can simplify complex decision-making, promote social coordination, and achieve specialization, but it may also become rigid or detached from real goals.
