WSJ: Trump May Seek to Fire Fed Chair Powell
BlockBeats News, August 20th, according to The Wall Street Journal report, Trump may try to fire Federal Reserve Board Governor Cook, who is accused of mortgage fraud.
U.S. Department of Justice officials said earlier tonight that they have received a criminal investigation referral related to Federal Reserve Board Governor Cook and are taking it very seriously. Trump's staunch ally, Federal Housing Finance Agency Director Bill Pulte, wrote to DOJ officials, suggesting that Federal Reserve Board Governor Cook may have committed a crime. According to a copy of the letter disclosed by Bloomberg, the letter accuses Cook of "falsifying bank documents and financial records to obtain more favorable loan terms, potentially violating criminal law constituting mortgage fraud."
