Satoshi Nakamoto
Satoshi Nakamoto is the pseudonymous creator (or group of creators) of Bitcoin, the first decentralized cryptocurrency. Satoshi published the Bitcoin whitepaper in 2008, detailing how the Bitcoin blockchain would function as a peer-to-peer electronic cash system. The identity of Satoshi Nakamoto remains unknown, which has fueled much speculation over the years. Nakamoto mined the first Bitcoin block, known as the Genesis Block, in 2009. They are believed to hold around one million Bitcoins, which would make them one of the wealthiest individuals (or groups) in the world today. Satoshi Nakamoto's disappearance from the Bitcoin project in 2010 left its development in the hands of the community.
