Sino-US Economic and Trade Consultations Held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

From October 25 to 26, Chinese Vice Premier and lead negotiator of the China-US Economic and Trade Agreement, He Lifeng, met with the American lead negotiators, US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen and Trade Representative Katherine Tai, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.


Building on the important consensus reached in the multiple calls between the leaders of the two countries this year, the two sides engaged in frank, in-depth, and constructive discussions on key economic and trade issues of mutual concern, including the US maritime logistics and shipbuilding industry's Section 301 measures against China, extension of the suspension of equivalent tariffs, fentanyl tariffs and enforcement cooperation, agricultural trade, export controls, and other important economic and trade issues, reaching a basic consensus on arrangements to address their respective concerns.
